Chinese Restaurants in Los Angeles

One wonderful thing here about the Southland is that there are affordable eateries that serve authentic regional cuisine from so many different areas of China. Cantonese, Sichuan, and Hunan food are just the tip of the iceberg!

The downtown Chinatown has some decent restaurants ( Yang Chow and Plum Tree Inn start out this list) but the real motherlode as far as Chinese food is concerned in Monterey Park and the San Gabriel Valley. My advice is to go east, where Chinese cuisine reigns supreme at places like Chung King Restaurant and the Triumphal Palace.

This list does cover places spread across the L.A. region. The Little Hong Kong Cafe is a low key and popular Westside spot. Kung Pao Bistro harks from the San Fernando Valley.

Two more very affordable spots in the downtown Chinatown include Sam Woo BBQ and Won Kok. Won Kok has the added bonus of being open until 3am at night!
