Sydney's nightlife scene can leave you breathless if you're not prepared for it. It starts with a diverse range of cocktail bars and lounges and finishes up (quite late) with intense clubbing at some of the best venues in the world. The Beresford Hotel hardly ever seems to close. Its specialty is its Monday Morning recovery party. The club inside is called the Discovery and on some mornings the patrons and high-energy house music spill out into the streets. ARQ is a fairly new gay venue that's beginning to make its mark on the Sydney scene. Within the complex are a club, a bar, a wine bar, an oyster bar, a cocktail bar and a restaurant. The Ivy Pool Club is either your ideal summer drinking locale or your idea of hell, depending on who you are, how much money you have and how comfortable you are in swimwear. It is, without a doubt, one of the most stylish spots in the city. If you're looking for a great time out, start early and be prepared to go until dawn in the nightclubs if Sydney.
