Probably the most famous walkway in Europe, if not the world, La Rambla is known for its street performers, eclectic variety of merchandise and lively ambiance. Stretching from the beach all the way until Plaza Catalunya in the city center, La Rambla is a definite 'must see' in Barcelona, at least once.
Although our number three pick is La Rambla itself, you can't come to Barcelona without taking a stroll up or down the walkway. Lined with some of the most random items (including caged pigeons and wild birds), as well as incredibly impressive street performers who are able to stand still under 30 degree heat for hours on end until someone wakes them up by putting a coin in their bucket, La Rambla is an exciting adventure even for just a short while.
If you like markets then directly off La Rambla is our number six pick, La Boqueria. Packed with fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, fish and anything else you might possibly be hungry for, La Boqueria is one of Barcelona's largest and most varied markets, excellent for shopping especially if you're hosting a dinner party.
And if you feel like introducing some culture into your Barcelona experience, our number eight pick is ideal. The Gran Teatre Del Liceu hosts concerts, operas and symphonies in its lavish theater situated directly off La Rambla.
