    You might want to keep your eyes peeled on the Bank of China building because it lights up in red neon lights during the night and remains the top tourist landmark in Central. On the Kowloon side though, Tsim Sha Tsui promenade is where the Symphony of lights takes place every night at 8pm and during sunset it is one of the most romantic walks around Tsim Sha Tsui East.

    Lan Kwai Fong is the one of the top local picks for a large population of expats and expat English speaking Chinese when it comes to looking for things to do at night. Hong Kong's own party place to go for partying and right behind is the Soho area where the clubbing vibes come with a unique Hong Kong flavour.

    The Big Buddha on Lantau island is the largest outdoor seated Buddha in Asia, if sheer size isn't enough to impress you then there is also Po Lin monastery next to it with traditional Chinese architecture and intricate patterns. Whilst walking through street markets such as Fa Yuen Street in Hong Kong might be a bit of a culture shock because of the tastes and choice of things sold is quite different to farmers markets, there is always Stanley Market to go for more standardised outlet shopping and relaxing alfresco dining on the South Coast.

    Speaking of shopping, Nathan Road cannot be missed as one of the top things to do for some locals in Hong Kong is to take a walk through it at night. It starts in Tsim Sha Tsui and ends in Prince Edward but this is the road of Hong Kong with the neon lights and busy pedestrian traffic as well as generally excellent tourist shops.

    Cheung Chau is an island for holiday makers in Hong Kong to go during weekends to get their dose of hikes, beaches, fresh seafood and sweet desserts. Perhaps you are looking for the outdoor things to do in Hong Kong then Cheung Chau should be the first pick.
