For many people, traveling is as much about shopping as it is about sightseeing. Although Fort Lauderdale is not known as a retail mecca, the city does have some potential as a destination for shopping travelers. Aside from the tourist-oriented souvenir shops, local malls and shopping centers sell everything from bargain jewelery and electronics to designer clothes and accessories, while area flea markets and antique shop are known for offering almost anything under the sun. And even if you're not in a position to splurge, returning to your hotel loaded down with bags of purchases, you could just pick up an item or two for someone back home. And if that's beyond your budget, well, there's always window shopping.
