History Attractions in Orlando

While Orlando's history isn't long-stretching as say, Boston, the area still has a story to tell. Thankfully, many of its history centers and museums have taken on the task of archiving and telling Orlando's past which makes for an interesting activity for locals and visitors alike. In the tourist areas, Titanic - The Experience on International Drive immerses people on this legendary ship recreated with genuine artifacts and recreated spaces. At Fantasy of Flight, you can feel what it would have been like to fly in a WW2 fighter plane. The site's open cockpit biplane rides are an extremely popular attraction. At Kennedy Space Center, visitors dive into the world of space travel through IMAX films, recreated control centers, and access to retired shuttles. Lunch with an actual astronaut is an experience that you're brood will be talking about for years to come. Archivists at the Orange County Regional History Center have carefully preserved much of Central Florida's past, now showcased throughout the downtown building which was once the area's court house. At American Folk Art is celebrated at the Mennello Museum and modern and historical artworks are showcased at the Orlando Museum of Art. Finally, the National Vietnam War Museum and the Holocaust Memorial Resource & Education Center of Florida both ensure that people learn about and remember critical moments in our past.
