Museums in Puebla

The streets of Puebla are filled with stunning buildings, churches, parks and stores, so you might think the best way to know the city is on the outside. But the truth is Puebla has some of the best museums in the country. The Amparo Museum is the second most important pre-Hispanic Art Museum in México, only behind the Museo Nacional de Arqueologia in México City. It also has an important Colonial, Modern and Mexican art collection.
The two forts (the Loreto and the Guadalupe Forts) are an important landmark in Mexican History, since the Battle of Puebla (best known as Cinco de Mayo battle) took place there.
Both the Museo Bello y Zetina and the Museo Bello y Gonzalez allow you a glance at what life at the beginning of the XX century must have been. The art collection these families had will impress you.
And of course, the Casa de los Hermanos Serdan, is a must. This is where the Mexican Revolution began, and it's a great way to know recent Mexican history exactly where it all began.
