  • Surprisingly, there are not any hotels directly outside of AT&T Park, though you don't have to go very far either. With the rapid development occurring in the area, don't be surprised if the skyline starts to fill in more hotels around this gorgeous ballpark, home of the 2010 World Series champions. Here, we've denoted a list of hotels close enough to walk to the game.

AT&T Park sits right on the Bay and we recommend resting by the water as well. Our top hotel pick near the ballpark is the Hotel Vitale. Part of the Joie de Vivre chain, the luxurious Hotel Vitale has a prime location along the Embarcadero. Waterfront rooms have outstanding Bay Bridge views and the service is impeccable. It's a short and beautiful walk to a baseball game, if that's on your agenda.

Another sure bet along the Embarcadero is the Harbor Court. Run by Kimpton Hotels, the rooms err on the smaller side, but the lovely decoration and bathroom details make up for the size. Staff is extremely courteous and the hotel is good value for the money. Again, it's just a short stroll to the ballpark and the Ferry Building is across the way.

Rock stars, corporate money movers, and the young, hip, rich crowd head to the W hotel. Slick and chic, the W is not cheap, but the beds are plush and the bathrooms are spacious (sometimes more so than the rooms). It's annoying that they charge for internet access (really?), but the location next to the SFMOMA is super convenient. Another plus is the XYZ restaurant and bar, which has decent food and a constant rotation of DJs spinning lounge beats. It's about four long SOMA blocks to the ballpark.

The closest hotel to AT&T Park is the Courtyard by Marriott on 2nd St. Recently renovated, this hotel is a couple of short blocks away from the action around the park, including breweries, upscale restaurants, and laid back bars. The rooms are larger than the average in San Francisco and the parking is expensive, try to go without a car or find a cheaper lot nearby.
