Puebla is one of the richest cities en Mexico. The culture one can admire in this city is almost unlimited. Every corner brings something new and excited to learn and see. The many churches, buildings, parks, museums and attractions are all worth visiting.
But since this is a Top 10 Culture Sites in Puebla, having to narrowing it to only 10 was very hard. Nevertheless here they are.
Picking number 1 surprisingly wasn't extremely hard, la Capilla del Rosario is the jewel of Puebla, so it was an obvious choice. From number 2 on, things got complicated. But eventually, it became logical that the Biblioteca Palafoxiana had to be number 2, since it's the only site in Puebla submitted in the UNESCO's Memory of the World Register.
In this list there are only museums and churches, for the sole reason that during the Colony period, culture was in the churches. That's where the art was displayed, not exactly as art pieces, but as objects to worship. Eventually, as the Colony ended and the Modern Mexico was born, those pieces were either kept in the churches or moved to museums. Residences had pieces of art too (as can be seen in both Bello Museums), but most of those are also in museums, unless they're still on private collections.
Puebla was a rich city, it was built for the Spaniards, so the quality and quantity of these art pieces is exceptional, you really should have the chance to admire. The way to get to know the culture heritage of Puebla is then obviously through its churches and museums. Lucky for you there are many here. And in case you don't want to enter every single one that you find, here's the list of the Top 10 you have to visit.
