There are plenty of brand-name hotels on Maui to choose from, but most are found in the beachfront communities of Wailea and Ka'anapali.
The Four Seasons on Maui is consistently recognized as one of the best resorts in the world by top publications. The 5-star service, amenities, and attention to detail (such as tropical fruit flavored water) help this resort separate itself from competitors. Also in Wailea is the Waldorf Astoria's Grand Wailea (popular stay for families) and the Fairmont Kea Lani.
Out in Ka'anapali there are some additional brand name resorts that rise to the top. The Hyatt Regency Maui enjoys a beautiful setting and tropical open-air lobby. Pass a collection of tropical birds, parrots, and even African penguins. The Westin Ka'anapali also features an unforgettable pool for the children and rooms with sunset views.
Lastly, the Best Western Pioneer Inn has to be mentioned. Depending on where you search, this hotel is listed as a two or three-star abode, but the location and history are unrivaled. Set at the crossroads of Lahaina's most popular streets, the century-old hotel overlooks the Lahaina harbor and shopping along Front Street. Whalers use to spend the night in theses same rooms after a grueling adventure at sea.
