Kapalua is made famous by the world class golf resort that hosts the first PGA event every year. Kapalua also features some amazing beaches for surfing and wave riding, such as D.T. Flemmings and Honolua Bay. But where should you look to stay if you plan on spending the night in this remote town located on the northwestern side of the island?
Our top recommendation is of course the Ritz Carlton. If looking for a 5-star retreat to Maui with elegant grounds and unforgettable service, the Ritz Carlton should be your top choice. Many golfers coming to Maui opt to stay at the Ritz or even the Kapalua Villas.
Ka'anapali is about 10 minutes from Kapalua, and one of the most desirable strips of real estate for visiting tourists. A stretch of five to nine hotels line the beachfront, along with an outdoor shopping complex known as Whaler's Village. The Westin and Hyatt Regency are fabulous options for families, as their pools are intricate and posses numerous water activities.
Other nearby towns include Kahana and Lahaina. Tourists often overlook Kahana, so you may be able to score lower nightly rates. If staying in Lahaina, be sure to book a night in the historic Pioneer Inn.
