Odd Animals and Where to See Them

The more than 3,000 varieties of nudibranch, or sea slugs, add color to coral reefs throughout the world. Their neon coloring, horns, feathers, streamers, and other odd appendages signal to predators that it’s probably not a good idea to eat them. Australia’s Heron Island reef is one of the best places to spot them on a dive.
