The "rooms" of a capsule hotel

The picture above may look like something from a laundromat, but it’s actually a hotel.  That’s right, each of the stacked doors opens to reveal a tiny room or “capsule.”  With just enough room to rest, capsule hotels offer an affordable reprieve for the weary traveler.  Your belongings can be stored in a locker and communal bathroom facilities are available.

If the notion of a capsule hotel isn’t so unexpected, what may surprise you is that some capsule hotels are for males only and others have separate floors for men and women.
