Earth From Above: Yann Arthus-Bertrand Photography

There a wonderful exhibition going on in Aotea Square at the moment. Taking advantage of the good weather, you can walk around the 100 amazing shots by Yann Arthus-Bertrand entitled “Earth From Above”. The exhibition has a green message which becomes apparent as soon as you start looking at the giant photos. The exhibition itself has toured the world since 2000 and now Auckland is one the the 120 cities to host.  There is also a giant map on the floor, next to the photos that you can take your shoes off and walk on. It’s a great geography lesson if you’ve brought your kids with you as they can literally walk from your country to New Zealand.

As the photos are illuminated for night viewing, I’d highly recommend going during one of the fine spring evenings we’ve been having and then perhaps stopping by for a drink at a local pub. They ask for a gold coin donation ($1 or $2) and the exhibition runs until the 19th of December.
