From a distance the display jars look like something out of a science fiction movie, up close the contents look like polished pebbles. But these lighted glass miniature chedis contain relics of the Buddha and some of his more distinguished followers. This particular collection occupies a small museum within the Wat Yannawa complex near the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok.

Relics of the Buddha? Wonder what he would think of that?!
Good question. I wonder what most religion icons would think of their posthumous or post Nirvana-finding portrayals. At least the several arms of John the Baptist were actually human bones.
