Beijing is a city for everyone. there are high-end wine bars, fun party clubs, lounges for those who want to relax and amazing pubs and bars for those who want to enjoy a nice pint. Beer is in season and these great beer bars and breweries are the best place in town to sip your favorite hops brew and wait for summer.
The Tree makes its own beer, aptly named Tree Beer that is quite rich, hearty and you’ll find beer connoisseurs around the city swiveling a glass of Tree Beer this spring. The Tree and sister company Nearby The Tree also sells Belgian beers and an impressive array of foods and pizza as well.
Ned’s carries a great range of Australian imports, if you crave a VB or Boags, this is the place to go. Tiny, ill-decorated and poorly furnished, this remains one of the most entertaining and laid back of Nanluoguxiang bars, and is a true beer bar.
For German beer, you’ll want to head to Paulaner Brau Haus for a great heffeweizen or heavier wheat beer. Pilsners are also on tap and bottles of imported classics are available. You’ll also find great German brews at Shindler’s Tankstelle and Die Kochmutzen. Belgian beer can be had at Beer Mania as well, and since its not that dissimilar from German its worth listing here.
For Chinese beer, head to any of the bars on Sanlitun North Street, like Smugglers, where you’ll find Tsingtao for 10-15 rmb and Yanjing for a few mao less. Tsingtao on tap is a bit more rare, but can be found in most larger establishments in the city.
Get out there, get your drink on and get to enjoying the best beer in Beijing.
