Winter Hikes in Zion National Park

Things to Do, What's New — By julietrevelyan on January 18, 2011 at 11:56 pm

Winter hiking in Zion can be sublime. The crowds have thinned considerably, this park is warmer than Utah’s other parks due to its lower elevation (excepting Kolob Canyons), and white snow on those red rocks just can’t be beat for visual delight.

Here’s my list of the seven best winter hikes in Zion. Now, there are definitely other hikes you can do. Angels Landing, for example, might be totally doable. However, to be on the safe side, the hikes in the list are pretty much always clear to hike in the winter. But hiker beware and all that! Check the weather and your own fitness levels before making any plans.

Than get out there and enjoy a gorgeous winter’s day in Zion, one most likely filled with solitude. You’ll see the Park in an entirely new way.
