El Arco, or The Arch, is the most recognizable regional landmark, as representative of Cabo San Lucas as the Golden Gate Bridge for San Francisco, the Eiffel Tower for Paris, or the Colosseum for Rome. On those rare occasions when the tide is low enough, you can walk beneath El Arco, journeying from the Sea of Cortes to the shores of the Pacific Ocean in a few short steps. There is a sea lion colony nearby, as well as excellent swimming, snorkeling, and diving off Lover’s Beach. Beyond Land’s End, outside the protected bay, brisk winds provide excellent sailing conditions.
