For the quintessential romantic getaway, there’s only one place to go; The Tickle Pink Inn.  Okay, so the name is a bit silly.  But just wait; it’s worth it.  This is easily the most romantic hotel in the area.  It’s safe to say this is not the place to take your children and extended family members.  This beautiful romantic hotspot is literally on the side of the cliffs, affording absolutely stunning views of the ocean.  If your room doesn’t overlook the water directly, don’t dismay; the other rooms offer beautiful views of the Carmel Highlands.  The inn was originally created in 1956, and has always been the spot for a romantic getaway.  The hotel is named for the original owners of the property; the Senator Mr. Edward Tickle.  This beautiful cottage is all that remains of the original estate, creating an extremely private atmosphere.  The cottage is small, and means that only a few couples at a time can enjoy the beautiful inn.  This is truly the place for both a private and romantic experience.  Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted with champagne.  Although a bit on the expensive side, the inn offers amenities that are hard to pass up, including a free breakfast for you and your special someone to eat while overlooking the water.  Each room comes equipped with a wet bar, fireplace, and a hot tub.  With a private balcony that overlooks the ocean, there’s hardly a reason to ever leave!  If, however, you do want to wander into the town of Carmel, this inn is very conveniently located.  Each day, there is a complimentary wine and cheese reception in the main lobby.  If you’re looking for a truly romantic getaway, look no further than the Tickle Pink Inn.
