Looking for a free event this weekend, I have a great one for you! This rainy weather may not be getting you too excited, but heighten your senses with artisan cheeses, breads, and wines from around Chicago, Midwest, and the United States with the 1st Annual Pastoral Artisan Producer Festival! This FREE meet-the-maker event will feature tastings, great information, and demonstrations. The event will take place at Chicago’s delightful French Market, Chicago’s only year-round indoor market featuring local artisans and purveyors, located around the corner from Ogilvie Transportation Center.

The festival is partially produced by Pastoral, a local specialty grocery store, lending to the style of a European cheese store. They have two locations in the city, and are local lunch time favorites, as well as a perfect destination for wine and cheese connoisseurs.

Pastoral Artisan Producer Festival, Saturday, April 30, 2011, 11:00-3:00pm; Chicago French Market, 131 N. Clinton
