The national sport in New Zealand is rugby football and attending a local match is a good insight into locals no matter what country or code you are watching - or if you understand or not.

Who is ‘my team’ well the ‘Crusaders’ of course. Other New Zealanders call us Cantabrians  one-eye. I admit we red and black wearing fans are pretty loyal. With many Rugby titles in their well filled trophy cabinet, we believe our passion is well deserved.

The historical Lancaster Park is now called the AMI Stadium and is walking distance from ‘the square’.

So, to find out more about ‘my team’ the Crusaders, and have a look at these photos I took at a recent game against Wellington. (ps: we won – of course)

In 2011 New Zealand is hosting the Rugby World Cup and I have also written a cheeky guide to watching the game.  See this on my Girls Guide to Rugby on my blog
