Kolohe’s at Ko’olina

You’ll find this modest eatery lagoon-side at the Marriott’s Koolina Beach Club along Oahu’s leeward coast. The tables are positioned just a few feet from the sandy lagoon and each seat offers wonderful ocean and sunset views. Although there are a few seats inside, the outdoor seating is by far the best.

The menu consists of burgers, sandwiches and salads for lunch and more hearty offerings for dinner that include steaks fresh fish, chicken and pasta. Although the service is good and the setting is wonderful, this spot is more popular for the live entertainment and bar scene. Beach goers stay until after sunset and forgo the resort priced steaks for the appetizers and beer. There is hardly a more perfect spot to watch the sunset and to relax in an unhurried tropical setting. This spot is almost exclusively tourists and maybe a few curious area residents and other locals that show up to support the live musicians, but it’s not a spot where thee is a lot of action and excitement. This can be a good thing especially if it’s a private setting with cool breezes and a place that can be quiet enough to hear the waves crash along the shore.

The resort area of Ko’olina is certainly up and coming and at the moment the dining choices are quite limited but Kolohe’s has managed to meet the needs of the hotel guests by offering a relaxed setting and good service.  Be sure to visit if not just for the cool breezes, live music and cold beer.
