Starting from July 11, there will be a group exhibition at Cityplaza of over 200 entries from all around the world for the “International Football Design Competition“, which showcases unique work of each representative country through the process of blending arts and football designs.
The most recommended must see alternative world cup celebration is definitely “Shoot for Glory” at Happy Valley Racecourse, on race nights, head to the famous racing grounds to soak up the atmosphere in the beer garden, and meet and greet the superstars of local teams South China and TSW Pegasus. Games and drinks specials will be one the both evenings.
Then when all the national pride is making you hungry, then why not get the World Cup spirit by paying a visit to a restaurant that serves the national cuisine of any teams playing this year. Central is the place to be if you want to watch the world cup happening in Hong Kong. Beijing Club is one big pimpin club that will be showing all the 64 matches on a massive 400 inch projector screen on their alfresco balcony. Hong Kong Brew House is right at the top end of Lan Kwai Fong and there is an outdoor patio for both people watching and game watching at the same time.
There are free snacks and drinks and Dickens Bar throughout the soccer season. The dishes will all be inspired by the competing teams that night. Plus, if any team scores five goals in a match, you get a free shooter, plus one extra shooter for every additional goal. Inn Side out is located at the heart of Causeway Bay and has a great semi-outdoor and indoor area for football fans to cheer and kick back.
Or if Central and Lan Kwai Fong is not one the intinery for the night then enjoy the matches live on gigantic television screens at Delaney’s.
