For a sizzling summer full of fun and excitement, East Tsim Sha Tsui is the place to be as Asia’s world city celebrates its vibrant living culture with the three day Dragon boat carnival, the biggest event of the Hong Kong summer spectacular.
Paddlers from all around the world will descend upon the waters of Victoria Harbour vying for international glory during the boat races. The Hong Kong Dragon Boat Carnival is not to be confused with the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival because the former is in Tsim Sha Tsui and the latter is at the Sha Tin Shing Mun River. Meanwhile, on, land, participants can indulge in great food, beer and entertainment at the nearby San Miguel Beer Garden and enjoy the street carnival and dragon boat exhibition at the Dragon Boat Fun plaza.
Head to the San Miguel Beer Garden to take a break from all the exciting racing action on the water and chill out with a cold beverage, enjoy all the entertainment and tuck into some great food. Everyday from noon to 9pm, visitors can enjoy live music and performances from some of Hong Kong’s top artists and groups, around 200 food booths providing a wonderful array of tempting dishes plus games including the San Miguel Beer Drinking Competition. The races start near Hotel Nikko Hong Kong and finish near Wing On Plaza so you can learn all about dragon boat racing from overseas dragon boat teams when you attend this street carnival. The highlight being that this Hong Kong dragon boat carnival is free and there are also game booths as well as arts and crafts workshops.
