Observations from the Chill Out Festival
Events, Things to Do — By Aysegul Surenkok on May 23, 2010 at 6:39 pmAs I had already written about what Chill Out Fest was all about and its reason of existence, I will skip those bits and go right into my observations on the festival itself…
1. Next time I should take my yoga mat, towels and umbrella with me. When you arrive late, there are no `comfortable` spots nor any matresses left for use.
2. Maybe not take a car with you. That is if you plan to chill out and drink up. Kemer Country is too far away from the city center and the roads are tricky. It seems too dangerous to drive here even if you were not drunk.
3. Cash is not used. Garanti Bank sponsors the event and distributes smart credit cards that act like debit cards in the festival area. No refunds… Be ready to line up to get your card.
4. Organization was good. Minor problems and bottlenecks. Music groups were on time during the time I was there.
5. Music for a bit too long was no way near “chill out” -was better in my opinion… Cuban music was very popular. Alex Cuban Band was up when I arrived and people did go crazy dancing…
6. If you are not shy, people were not shy. Dress up in your bikini and sun-bathe if you want… Nakedness seemed to be a common theme for some people…
7. Everyone had colorful sun glasses. If you do not already have one, get one!
What else? Even as I write this people continue to have fun. The Festival will go on until 2 AM. For more information on who was there and what they sang, visit the Festival’s official web site. Save the date and be there next year…
