What’s new at Jerusalem’s little western wall?

The Kotel Hakatan or small western wall made it into my list of top 10 interesting synagogues–today I found out that the Israel Antiquities Authority has started renovation work on the site to make it easier to find and more pleasant to pray at once you get there…

Here’s the new sign–not sure why they still call it the “wailing” wall in English–no one uses that name any more–but any sign is an improvement…

Be sure to take an extra 30 mins when you’re done with the western wall to head north into the Moslem Quarter via the tunnel at the back of the plaza to pay a visit to the Kotel Hakatan.
