Photo Friday in Las Vegas: The Stratosphere
Hotels, Things to Do — By thmeeks on April 2, 2010 at 9:43 pm
It’s Photo Friday here at NileGuide (a new trend started by Nick Rowlands, the Cairo expert), and today’s Las Vegas picture is of the Stratosphere. At 1,149 feet, the Strat is the tallest observation tower in the United States. Unlike more sedate observation towers, the Stratosphere features rides at the top that dangle people over the side and shoot them into the air. From this perspective, however, you can’t see the rides–just that very, very tall thousand foot base.

Wow – cool photo! The rides sound terrifying…
(Thanks for the Photo Friday props… though not sure I can claim credit for inventing it!)
The ride at the top is absolutely nuts! It’s a great place to go for a family friendly thrill in Vegas.
I hear that if you can keep your eyes open on the Big Shot, you can see all the way to Lake Mead–although I certainly have not tried it!
