Meet The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Two things strike you when you walk inside the new Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas: the property’s compact footprint, and that huge chandelier. The interior of this posh hotel casino is sleek but eclectic, and once you’ve seen the Cosmopolitan, their quirky television ads make sense.

A massive, multi-level chandelier rises through the center of the building and hides lounges tucked away in curtain-like folds of crystals. From the casino level, escalators take you to the second and third floors of shops and restaurants. On the third floor, where most of the restaurants are located, inviting sofas and chairs give guests a place to sit and wait for a table (or watch people). A pool table is also available for those who want to get in a game.

Pedestrian walkways connect the Cosmopolitan to the Bellagio and CityCenter. Room rates are on the high end, but in line with the properties around it.

On New Year’s Eve, Jay-Z and Coldplay will perform at the Cosmopolitan, and the concert will be broadcast outside on the hotel’s 65-foot marquee. (Rumors are swirling that Gwyneth Paltrow will perform with Coldplay, but her publicist has reportedly denied the actress will be on stage. Beyonce is set to perform with Jay-Z.) Also that night, the hotel says there will be a surprise performance on the pool deck overlooking the Strip. The question is: will this surprise include kittens?
