San Gennaro Feast at the Silverton Hotel Casino, May 4-8
An Italian festival in Las Vegas, Nevada? Actually, with the city’s history, it’s not surprising that the San Gennaro Feast will be at the Silverton Hotel Casino May 4-8. Visitors can sample food, entertainment, food, drinks, carnival rides, and… food. From Monday, May 4, through Friday, May 6, the festival will be open from 4 p.m. to midnight. On the weekend, it’s an all-day event from 11 a.m. until midnight. Tickets are two for $14.00, or single tickets at $9.00 each. Price of food not included.

Helldorado Days, downtown Las Vegas, May 12-15
Helldorado Days, Las Vegas’ own hometown rodeo and Western festival, will be back in downtown Las Vegas May 12-15. This venerable Las Vegas event was established in 1935, but disappeared from the local scene for several years. Helldorado is back now, which is a great thing for rodeo lovers. (Big hat and belt buckle optional.) Gates open at 5 p.m., and the rodeo starts at 7 p.m. on opening and closing nights (Thursday and Sunday), and at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $8.00 for kids, except on Thursday when adult tickets are $10 and kids under 12 are free.

Vegas Streats, El Cortez, May 14
Food trucks are the latest gastronomical craze in Las Vegas. This isn’t your dad’s roach coach, so don’t let the combination of the words “food” and “truck” fool you. Places like Fukuburger Truck, Slidin Thru, and Sloppi Jo’s Roving Eatery are kitchens on wheels—usually you have to check their Twitter feeds or online schedules to find them. But on the second Saturday of every month, they’re congregating downtown for a free street festival at the El Cortez. This is the place to find out what the New Food Trucks are all about.

Electric Daisy Carnival, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, June 24-26
Tickets go on sale April 23 for the electronic music festival, the Electric Daisy Carnival, that will take over the LVMS at the end of June. The three-day carnival comes to Las Vegas from Southern California and looks likely to bring a huge crowd. Single-day passes start at $75.00. Check their website for more information.
