Hot rods, muscle cars, and vintage rides strut their stuff once a month on Maui. The first Saturday of each month, beautiful cars escape from garages all over the island and make their way to the parking lot of Peggy Sue’s restaurant located in Azeka Mall, Kihei.
It is a real treat to see Fords and Chevys from the 50s and 60s side by side with customized hot rods and souped-up specialty cars, plus the occasional rarity like a supercharged V-8 Willys. What makes these cars even more special is the thought that they had to be shipped across the Pacific Ocean to make it out to Maui. Classic Cruisers is a collection of car lovers and owners who enjoy displaying their cars and meeting with fans.
The group often has 50 – 60 cars on display at Peggy Sue’s. Also, they support other island events all over Maui. Their website, www.mauicarshows.com, lists upcoming meets, shows, parties, and community support events planned by Classic Cruisers.
Give your eyes and ears a treat, and pose the family for an impressive photo alongside shining and spotless examples of America’s classic, beautiful cars.
