Everyone (well, almost everyone) knows Miami is a great place for a vacation, but fewer know that the city is prime hunting ground for technology careers. In fact, Miami is one of the 10 fastest-growing areas for high-tech jobs, according to a report by, which bills itself as the “the #1 technology job board.” The career Web site says Miami tech job listings rose 43% between February 2010 and February 2011.

Detroit topped the list with 101% job growth, follwed by Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Seatle, Pittsburg, Miami, Jacksonville, Chicago and Silicon Valley.
