Everyone (well, almost everyone) knows Miami is a great place for a vacation, but fewer know that the city is prime hunting ground for technology careers. In fact, Miami is one of the 10 fastest-growing areas for high-tech jobs, according to a report by Dice.com, which bills itself as the “the #1 technology job board.” The career Web site says Miami tech job listings rose 43% between February 2010 and February 2011.
Detroit topped the list with 101% job growth, follwed by Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Seatle, Pittsburg, Miami, Jacksonville, Chicago and Silicon Valley.
So, if you happen to be an Information Technology (IT), software, engineering, biotech, aerospace or security professional, South Florida is well worth a look (local tech salaries average $68,000). To browse high-tech job postings in Miami on Dice.com, click here.
