When I think of Niagara Falls and its tourism industry I automatically think of two words; road trip. It really is the perfect spot to venture to for a quick weekend getaway from reality, as it is just a hop, skip and jump over to the United States border and an hour drive from the great city of Toronto. Thus is it safe to assume that those who venture to Niagara Falls are looking for a way to get the kids out and running around after the four hour drive from your home town (or twenty minute drive from down the road). As Niagara Falls is home to tourists throughout the year the best road trip here would have to be during the summer months. This is so because it is a must to drive along the Niagara Parkway to really take in the beauty of Niagara Falls and its surrounding areas.

The Niagara Parkway is the perfect spot to start off your quick road trip through the Niagara Region. Spanning from the brinks of Niagara on the Lake to Fort Erie The Parkway is the best spot to have go on a little road trip while in the Niagara Region. With its lush vegetation and plenty of nature trails along the way you can certainly make a day out of it. Start off viewing the precious Niagara Falls, head up and down Clifton Hill, then check out the Floral Clock of Niagara, a popular stop for tourists. Walk through the gardens and capture the essence of flying beauty at the Butterfly Conservatory and Botanical Gardens before you venture off to the Floral Clock.

After you’ve seen all the attractions in Niagara Falls roll the windows down, feel the warm summer breeze and glide along the road straight through to the prettiest town in the Niagara Region, Niagara on the Lake.Stop off for a picnic lunch along the water and go for a little wine tasting or high tea at The Prince of Wales Hotel in Niagara on the Lake.

If you and the family are feeling really adventurous start the drive off in Fort Erie where you can capture history in your hand through to the Fort Erie Railroad Museum. Needless to say if you made the trek down to Niagara Falls with any type of automobile then the best road trip you will encounter will be a quaint drive along the Niagara Parkway.
