Accomodations Ideas for Multi-Family Vacations

Hotels, What's New — By Kristen Manieri on June 29, 2010 at 9:45 am

Traveling with multiple families, whether friends or relatives, is a great way to spend a vacation. I just love how everyone pitches in together to watch the kids, coordinate meals, and give couples ‘date nights’ off. But when traveling as a pack of two + families, typical hotel rooms aren’t always the ideal, especially when you need things like a full kitchen, a communal space to hang out, and the wherewithal to create a home away from home that everyone will be comfortable in.

So, I’m a big fan of home rentals and resorts with villas. Here are a few of my favorites:

Premier Vacation Homes Walt Disney Area – with a huge variety of centrally located vacation homes with private pools, Premier Vacation Homes offer three to six bedrooms and range from 1,550 to 2,l00 square feet. Each home includes a private, screened, outdoor pool, furnished, screened patio, full kitchen,  and washer and dryer… you know that’ll come in handy!

Holiday Villas Walt Disney Area – Two and three bedroom luxury awaits at Holiday Villas. These spacious abodes will accommodate up to eight –with two full baths, a complete kitchen, in-unit laundry and many more important amenities in this resort-style property.

Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge – This home-style accommodations in the heart of Disney is a little pricier than private home rentals, but you’ll enjoy the Disney amenities like free park shuttles and access to the Disney dining plan.  Two-bedroom villas feature one king-size bed, 2 queen-sized beds, and a queen-sized sleeper in the living area. There’s also televisions in each bedroom and a TV/DVD player in the living room.

The Villas at ChampionsGate – My absolute FAVORITE multi-family resort option is the Villas at ChampionsGate, located about 15 minutes from Disney (although free shuttles to Disney is included in your stay). Two-bedroom villas accommodate up to 6 guests comfortably within 1,543-1620 square feet of living space and feature a master bedroom and bath with a king bed and a second bedroom with one or two beds.  Three-bedroom villas offer 1,832-1,971 square feet of living space, accommodating up to 8 guests.  These villas come equipped with a modern kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. All villas include a living room, dining room with wet bar, separate den and a private terrace or balcony.

Situated adjacent to the  Omni Orlando Resort, the villas give easy access to all the resorts amenities and facilities, including the 10,000 square foot spa and fitness facility, two Greg Norman-designed championship golf courses,  formal pool with private cabanas, heated family pool with waterslide and an 850-foot lazy river, plus seven restaurants, eateries and lounges.

Here are a few other house and villa rentals to consider:
