Perth Zoo animals welcome total smoking ban

The Perth Zoo just over the river from the city centre has been one of Perth’s most popular attractions for more than a hundred years. And this week it’s become even more attractive for zoo-goers who don’t want to walk around the gardens and displays breathing in cigarette smoke!

As part of a large sponsorship deal, the Perth Zoo has decided to start a total smoking ban for the entire zoo site. That means there’ll be nowhere in the whole zoo where smokers will be able to light up – which seems appropriate for a place that attracts a lot of kids. And I bet the animals are also happy not to have to breath in smoke.
