Warming Up in Perth: Summer Ahoy!

Summer is definitely on the way in Perth: yesterday we very nearly reached what you Fahrenheit people call the century mark, making it to 99 degrees F (what we call 37 degrees Celsius). Whatever you call it, it’s really hot, and unless you’re smart like this kangaroo (pictured at Caversham Wildlife Park) and can find a nice deep hole under a shady tree to lie in, then you’d better watch out! Don’t forget my advice to “slip, slop, slap” to avoid too much damage from the fierce Aussie sun.

The next week has a slightly cooler forecast, but the warning has been giving: summer is nearly here. If you’re travelling to Perth during the next few months, keep in mind that it can certainly get pretty warm and plan accordingly. And make sure you fit in some itinerary time at Scarborough Beach or any of the other beautiful swimming spots along the Perth coast.
