Fresh and Local: The Thursday Night Market in Downtown Tempe

Events, Food, Things to Do — By P. Escarcega on May 31, 2011 at 1:09 am

Going green got a little easier last year with the launching of the new Thursday Night Market in downtown Tempe. This weekly event, held at the Tempe Urban Garden at the southwest corner of 5th Street and Forest, features fresh produce, plants, and herbs, most grown locally without chemical pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides. Local artisans are also on hand selling hand-crafted gift items, and market-goers are serenaded by local musicians playing under (what else?) environmentally-friendly LED lights.

What better way to wind down the work week than with a little evening browsing at this thriving new farmer’s market? The Thursday Night Market is held every week at the Tempe Urban Garden in downtown Tempe from 4:30pm-8pm. For more information, call (480) 355-6060.
