St. Patrick’s Day in Prague

Blame it on the mutual love of beer, but St. Patrick’s Day is a growing Prague celebration. If you are in town, avoid the leprechauns and head out for some feisty Irish fun!

Irish Music Festival: From March 15-20, indulge in the best of Irish music, dance and culture during the Irish Music Festival. Held at two pubs, the James Joyce and Caffrey’s, the choice ranges from traditional ballads to Celtic rock to everything in between.

For fans of harder stuff, Palac Akropolis will be hosting French-Czech Celtic group, Bran while over at Retro Music Hall, their St. Patrick’s Day party on March 19 will feature U2 tribute band U2 Poptarts. A St. Patty’s Shamrock and Roll party will be held at Belushi’s on March 18th with live music by Eddy of CCTV Allstars & DJ Stevie Weenie.

If you’d rather just kick back with a pint of Guinness, there are no shortages of Irish pubs in Prague. Try Rocky O’reillys for great food or to watch a big game, J.J. Murphy’s for great service and a somewhat more mature crowd, or the above mentioned Caffrey’s, one of the oldest Irish pubs right on Old Town Square.
