The WBRU Summer Concert Series comes to a teary end tonight, but boy what an end it is: the band OK Go will ggggo tonight at 7:30 for all of downtown Providence to enjoy (or at least those who can cram themselves near the basin of the canal near Waterplace Park).
Don’t know OK Go?
Nothing tells the story better than NPR’s Ira Glass in this bio piece about a group of guys some kids may call the other fab four. If you’re curious about the group’s musical stylings, a quick plug-in to Pandora proves it’s part The Pixies, part The Shins, part White Stripes. Think lots of guitars and funky sounds. Good times.
From experience we can share that great vocals, meaningful lyrics and more energy than a case of Red Bull makes even 10 minutes watching these guys the highlight of your week. If you’re in the area, stop by or at least roll down your windows. You won’t miss the sounds. But you might miss those fly treadmills…
