Crawlin’ Along Downtown: Reno Beer Crawls
Events, Nightlife — By christinanellemann on December 24, 2010 at 7:00 amThe 2010 Reno Santa Pub Crawl on December 11 attracted over 3,000 festive revelers. That’s a lot of red and white! Over the past few years, Reno has become the place to be for various beer crawls that take participants to local bars and pubs in the downtown area. These include regular beer crawls that are on the fourth Saturday of each month and holiday crawls such as the Zombie Crawl at Halloween, the Santa Crawl at Christmas and the Super Hero Crawl during the summer. Visitors during these crawls are expected to dress up in costume.
Things do get a little crazy and some of the pubs, restaurants and even the streets can get packed with crawlers. The crawls cost $5 for a map to each participating bar or pub and a festive glass or mug. Refills at the over 15+ bars cost $1. Proceeds from each event goes to local charity organizations. IDs are checked at each bar and cops will be hanging around some of the more popular bars. However, each event is still widely attended and even if you don’t drink very much, is a fun way to do some people watching.
