What do New York, San Francisco, Paris, Toronto, Sao Paolo, London, Hong Kong and Istanbul have in common with Rome? They are all simultaneously participating in Social Media Week, a five day program (February 7 through 11th) of conferences, both on location and internet, discussing social media’s role in our present day and future.
If you are passing through Rome this week and need a virtual fix, sign up for one of the 130 #SMWRME events held across the city– from social media tutorials to heated discussions about the global impact of technology and social media like wikileaks, branded bloggers and avant garde academia. All you need is an email address and you can participate in any of the free (yes, free) events held in Italian with some in English. Just bring your favorite addiction- computer, smart phone or iPad– and network.
