The Hotel Rector is one of the most famous hotels in Salamanca and was rated Most Excellent European Hotel by Condé Naste Johansens. The four star hotel prides itself on its luxury ambience, exceptional service and world-class amenities. Located near the University of Salamanca, Hotel Rector is within walking distance of the beautiful architecture of the school and of the Plaza Mayor where most of city-life is based. The old and new Cathedrals and the Casa de las Conchas are also just a walk away that is plenty easy on the eyes.

The hotel itself is housed within a former aristocratic residence that blends into the rest of Salamanca’s exterior look, but the inside has been modernly renovated to create a ridiculously comfortable stay. The windows and doors are in the neo-classical design and the balconies are made of wrought iron. It is these little touches that set Hotel Rector apart from other local hotels. Although a small hotel with only 13 rooms, Hotel Rector manages to make rooms unexpectedly spacious. The suites come with fine linens, marble bathroom floors, bathrobes, iPod docks and flat-screen TVs.

Even though the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, its central location places it near multiple eating options that allow you to get out and enjoy the city’s establishments. The hotel offers a high quality breakfast that can be served in bed at no extra cost and the staff provides excellent restaurant recommendations to make the most of your trip. In addition it provides: 24-hour staff service, a parking

garage, free wifi, private transportation in the city and from the airport upon request, a multilingual staff, laundry facilities and a private bar exclusively for guests. Patrons rave about its unbelievable service and attention to detail where the staff remembers each guest’s name and title. Even though it is so highly rated, everything about Hotel Rector is understated like its modest décor, its attentive but respectful wait-staff, and the extensive but not extravagant amenities.

On top of these amenities, the hotel arranges day trips to Sierra de Francia and Candelario mountain ranges just south of Salamanca, for river cruises alone the Duero River, or to a winery in Sierra de Francia or in the Toro region. The staff provides advise about local and regional site-seeing options and will help arrange transportation and services to both. Just ask for whatever you need and the staff will be sure to come up with a good answer.
