Don’t be surprised that Pacific Beach’s wannabe downtown club Bar West is celebrating three years this weekend – as this swanky nightclub is one of the oldest on the block. Sure, bars line up and down Pacific Beach’s infamous Garnet Ave., but with three years under their belt Bar West has some gloating to do.
Sun down, Music Up!
Celebrating in style, the beach club honors three years on Hornblend this weekend (April 22-24) with a lineup of events from a Recycled Fashion Show in honor of Earth Day to special DJ jams.
Thursday the anniversary celebrations jump start their way to the weekend with a Recycled Fashion Show featuring looks from Buffalo Exchange and models from A Robert Cromean’s Salon. Show begins at 10pm, and guests who bring in a piece of clothing get in cover-free with one drink. On Friday Dirt Nasty and Andre Legacy will be performing, while celebrity host Playmate Heather Rae Young joins the crew on Saturday.
Constantly offering up happy hour specials, Bar West might have the ambiance of a swanky downtown club but doesn’t have the prices of one. With $2 well drinks and discounted prices offered even during the busiest months of summer, Bar West easily combines both the street vibe of San Diego’s downtown with the laid-back beach one of PB.
Recently the team has been promoting the happy hour special L8 is GR8, with 8-10pm happy hour specials Thursday through Sunday. Dancing is always in season at Bar West, and with $5 cocktails, $2 sliders and half-off wings, you’ll work off all the extras quickly.
