With subfreezing temperatures in Albuquerque right now, a wool sweater made from a Navajo Churro sheep sounds pretty good. Learn how sweaters, blankets, and other wool goods are made at the Winter Wool Festival Saturday, February 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Botanic Gardens at the Albuquerque Aquarium. Shearers, spinners, dyers and weavers will be demonstrating their talents at the Heritage Farm. The process of dying Navajo Churro sheep wool with plant dyes will be demonstrated. Admission to the festival is included in park admission. Click here for more information, or call (505) 848-7180.
