This weekend, Shakespeare returns to Singapore, with an action-packed adventure in the park that will keep you on the edge of your picnic blanket. Returning to Fort Canning Park from 28th April – 22nd May, Shakespeare in the Park brings us Macbeth, one of Shakespeare’s most dark and intriguing masterpieces.
On a mysterious night in the forest, three witches tell Macbeth that he is destined to become the King. But Macbeth and his wife have more political ambition than patience, and they decide to take fate into their own hands by conspiring to kill the virtuous King Duncan and anyone who stands between them and the throne. The bloodshed and paranoia spiral out of control until everyone is ensnared: the king, the royal court, and eventually even the Macbeths themselves.
Whether you are literary lover, or just fancy an evening curled up under the stars with an al-fresco bottle of wine and a loved one, then an evening of Macbeth and Shakespeare in the Park promises to be a night to remember, with some mystery, madness, suspense, and suspicion thrown in.
Tickets are available from Sistic and cost from $38.00 – $55.00
