Top 10:

Romantic Things to Do in Cancun

  • The Best of NileGuide
  • Sunsets, sweeping vistas, catamaran cruises-you get where we're going with this. To fill the days of your romantic getaway in Cancun, check out these romantic things to do.

The Lobster Dinner Cruise, which sets sail around sunset, is one of Cancun's most romantic things to do. On board the boat, you'll enjoy a delicious lobster dinner, while sailing around the lagoon.

The Trimaran Cruise to Isla Mujeres is a romantic way to travel between Cancun and the "Island of Women". Isla Mujeres is a small island just a few miles off from Cancun's shores. The island was named Isla Mujeres after the Spaniards found many images of goddesses on the island, in the 16th century. Isla Mujeres is a laid-back island and has a totally different vibe than Cancun. The main modes of transportation on the island are golf carts and scooters. Visit the island with your honey and have some cervezas with your toes in the sand, tour the island by golf cart, or simply walk along the beautiful beaches while holding hands. You'll have so much fun, you won't want to leave the island.

A day-trip to Isla Contoy or a trip out to Isla Blanca are perfect if you want to get away from it all. Isla Contoy only allows a certain number of people to visit the island each day and Isla Blanca is so far off the beaten path that it is rarely crowded. (Avoid Sundays, however. It's very crowded then.) Pack a picnic lunch if you go to Isla Blanca though. There are no facilities there. Enjoy a day lounging on virgin beaches with your sweetheart. It doesn't get much more romantic than that.

Swimming in cenotes (sink holes), riding horses on the beach, or enjoying the breathtakingly beautiful scenery at Xcaret and Xel-Ha are also fantastic options if you want to combine romance with sightseeing, while vacationing in Cancun.

Whether you want active or laid-back, luxury or low-key, these activities will surely inspire some hand holding. Let the swooning commence.
