Business Hotels in Auckland

It is important to locate yourself right in the CBD (Central Business District) when coming to Auckland on Business unless your company is based in another area. So, check ahead as public transport can be tricky to industrial estates and taxi drivers also might not know the best routes to places off the beaten track. There are a number of very nice options within the city, most of which also contain good quality conference centres. One that has been long established is the Langham Hotel at the top end of the city, just off Karangahape Road, known as K' Rd. to locals. They are about a 110-15 minute walk from the University of Auckland so it is a good place to base yourself if you are attending events there. At the bottom end of the city, down near the water, you have a number of options as most of the nicer hotels as well as the chain hotels (ie. the Hilton) are located there. The added benefit is that you are nearer to the Viaduct Harbour and up and coming Britomart precinct. Both are full of good restaurants and bars at which you can entertain if necessary. A word of warning about internet and Wi-fi. It is not as widespread to what you may be used to if you are visiting from North America or Europe, so ask each hotel what their internet charges are and don't assume that all cafes offer free Wi-fi.
