Concierge Picks at the Hotel Palomar Atlanta

One of Atlanta’s newest boutique properties, the Hotel Palomar Atlanta, A Kimpton Hotel, is located in Midtown close to restaurants, shops and some of the city’s most popular attractions. The hotel’s Pacci Ristorante and AltoRex Rooftop Lounge are ideal spots to unwind and relax over dinner or drinks, but when you feel like venturing out, there is a ton of great spots to choose from that are close by. We had a chance to get some recommendations from Palomar’s knowledgeable concierge, Andreea Ghenti-Pusser, on where to get a drink and enjoy a night out on the town. Her picks highlight late-night eateries as well as trendy lounges and dance clubs

1. Where do you send visitors when they want to have a drink in the neighborhood of your hotel?

Mid City Café: It’s the closest place to have a drink after midnight when our restaurant closes and it’s affordable and fun.
Marlow’s Tavern: Also serves food until midnight and is open until 2 a.m.
HALO: A great place for guests to dance and it’s about three minutes walking distance from the hotel.
Aurum: A new lounge that is a posh and stylish place, about five to 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel.

2. Where to take a date?

For dinner and a real “southern hospitality” feel, I recommend Ecco or South City Kitchen. Café di Sol has a great patio, is casual with a good vibe, and hosts live music Thursdays. Bluepointe in Buckhead is a high-end restaurant with a fabulous bar.

3. Girls night?

Opera or HALO; Tongue and Groove in Buckhead; or Café Intermezzo for drinks and dessert.

4. Guy’s night?

Fado’s, an Irish Pub in Buckhead; Opera Club here in Midtown; Independent, a pool bar in Midtown; or Cheetah Lounge, which is very close to the hotel.

5. Where can people go for a good local vibe?

Little Five Points is a hip neighborhood with shops, bars, boutiques and the Seven Stages theater. Also, Virginia Highlands is a neighborhood with old historic Victorian houses, restaurants and fun bars.

6. Where do you like to go out?

I am more of a nature lover, so I really enjoy spending time in parks. Ansley Park is my favorite spot for a quiet walk in the Midtown area. I also love The Chattahoochee National Recreational Park, which is a fantastic oasis of greenery in the city.

When I go out at night with my friends, we usually go to Fado’s in Buckhead or at Opera Club to dance, especially when international DJ’s are spinning.
